The Art of Jailbreaking

As you all know, untethered jailbreak for iOS 6/6.1 is now available with Evasi0n.

Below are the Cydia Tweaks I’m currently using on my iPod Touch 5G

Unfold – “Fold to unlock” concept for the lockscreen. You can customize how many folds you want it to have and if you want it vertically. The text “fold to unlock can be changed too.

InfiniFolder – You can store as many apps as you want under one folder! Those who doesn’t want too many folders and icons on their home screen would definitely love this tweak.

Bytafont – enables you to change the fonts for the lockscreen, keyboard, notes and the entire system.

Springtomize 2 – allows you to customize your Springboard the way you want it to be. Their are a lot of options to choose to modify the aspects of your device. I used this one to have a customized Carrier name. The normal iPod would display “iPod” as the carrier name I changed mine to ✩charmeyn✩

iFile – this is the complete file manager/viewer that will be very useful for jailbroken devices. This app will give you full access to all your files so you can fully customize your device.

Battery Percentage – iPod touch doesn’t have the feature to show the battery percentage. All you have to do is the N78AP.plist or the only .plist file on that directory using iFile, browse /Systems/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app. Open the file and search for <key>gamekit</key> and replace it with <key>gas-gauge-battery</key>

When you’re done editing, go to Settings > General > Usage, then activate the battery percentage 🙂

Winterboard – enables you to entirely change the look and feel of your device. There a lot of Winterboard Themes available on Cydia. I’m currently learning how to create my own winterboard theme. When I have successfully completed my first theme, I’ll prolly create a tutorial and share it to everyone. 🙂
